Pediatricians Report to Director, Autism Summary Under limited supervision perform diagnostic psychological assessment of patients; provide individual and/or family psychotherapeutic services; provide psychological consultant and referral services to medical staff; supervise psychology interns and other ancillary staff. Demonstrated knowledge includes principles of growth and development over each patient’s life span. Possess ability to assess data reflective of each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to identify age-specific requirements. Provide care as described in department policies and procedures. Educational and clinical skills to effectively instruct residents and medical students and counsel patients and families. Creative thinking; analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities; self-direction; theoretical knowledge and skills to conduct full diagnostic psychological assessments of patients. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree in Clinical, Educational or Community Psychology. Major in Clinical Psychology preferred, including graduate courses in child development. Limited or full licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan. One to two years pediatrics or community clinic experience. Internship in pediatric or child clinical psychology Language Skills Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families under stressful situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Pediatricians Report to Director, Autism Duties Summary Under the direction of the administration of the Autism Center of Excellence will be responsible for providing behavioral intervention and educational services to two-five year old children in a therapeutic and pre-school classroom setting located in Novi. Work collaboratively with team members to provide excellent services to children with Autism. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field preferred.
